Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, date of birth, or other term placed in a search box goes to the independent provider that runs the tool. That company processes the request and returns any result. Sumter County Warrant Records does not retain or record those query terms in its own system.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Correspondence sent directly to us can be kept while a response is prepared and the related exchange is maintained. It is not shared outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page may cause the servers to receive basic technical and usage details, including:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that support analysis of page use, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics providers help combine that traffic into broader measurements. A browser can reject cookies through its settings, although disabling them may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating, securing, and improving page performance
- Routing a submitted query to the selected search provider
- Measuring which material visitors use most often
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Presenting advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Warrant Data on File
No warrant database or store of personal warrant-record information is hosted, maintained, compiled, or sold here. The site publishes general routing information for Sumter County courts, the Circuit Clerk, law enforcement, and Alabama case-access services. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not assembled into reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each partner decides how long it retains data and when it shares information. Review those practices before entering a query because this site cannot control them.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Sumter Circuit Clerk, state court portals, the Sheriff/Jail page, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy terms apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be received by:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable safeguards are used for information collected through the site. No internet service can guarantee perfect security, however, and a breach or unauthorized access cannot be ruled out.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be removed when required.
Your Data Rights
Applicable Alabama privacy and consumer-protection law may provide additional rights. The Alabama Public Records Law, principally ยง36-12-40, addresses access to government records and does not make this private site a government custodian. Subject to law and technical limits, a user may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A new version becomes available on this page and carries an updated effective date.
